Some surfaces require sealing before we begin to mosaic. Otherwise: 1) adhesion is degraded which causes tiles to pop off; 2) the backer swells, shrinks and warps, and; 3) moisture in the backer promote rot. This video shows the best practice in sealing porous surfaces. (3 min. 07 sec.)
